SubAir Golf System

SubAir Golf System

There is a reason the world’s best courses depend upon SubAir Systems to maximize the experience of their golfers. Matter of fact, there are plenty of reasons.

When you’re the recognized innovator and expert in both surface and subsurface aeration as well as moisture removal systems, astute golf course professionals take notice.

For decades, those respected courses, unwilling to let Mother Nature consistently play havoc with their conditions, have turned to SubAir. Why? SubAir Systems provides aeration, moisture removal and root zone temperature control in order to create an optimal subsurface growing environment for deep-rooted, resilient, healthy green grass.

The aeration, moisture control and temperature moderation capabilities of SubAir Systems are able to:

  • Produce a more consistent and smooth playing surface
  • Extend the growing season by moderating seasonal temperature extremes in the root zone
  • Drain excessive moisture 36x faster than natural gravity drainage, literally eliminating puddling
  • Increase turf recovery 50% faster, especially with a high volume of play

Resolve the turf issues at your most challenging green by supporting the subsoil environment with balanced aeration, moisture and temperature conditions. A single SubAir unit installs in one day with no impact on the playing surface. The system integrates with USGA drainage networks already installed under most greens. All installation work is away the green’s playing surface and does not interfere with golfers on the course.

SubAir agronomists and project managers can assist long range planning for progressive installation of units. Progressive installation can achieve full course installation and address specific areas of fairways, walkways or practice areas stressed by heavy traffic or poor drainage.

As a leading turf management solution benefiting all types of grasses in most climates, SubAir Systems support the overall health of the turf, virtually eliminating diseases while maintaining the continuous, consistent growth of deep rooted, resilient, healthy green grass.

A SubAir System provides turf professionals with the ability to consistently deliver fresh air to the roots and subsoil, eliminate oxygen- poor conditions, stimulate plant growth and increase root growth to support healthy, constantly growing turf. The result: A premium playing surface that can bounce back quickly from excessive precipitation.

About SubAir Systems

You don’t become the world’s recognized authority in surface and subsurface aeration and moisture removal systems without consistently generating awe-inspiring results.

At SubAir Systems, we are innovators and industry leaders, just as we have been for decades. We have long understood that deep-rooted resilient, healthy green grass required optimum growing conditions. That takes science, innovation and commitment… the cornerstones of our success.

As our name implies, it all starts below the surface. Subsurface aeration and moisture removal is critical to achieve the type of results that golf courses and sporting facilities demand. That is how our success story began…with SubAir Elite vaults placed below the surface.

We also recognize the need to effectively control aeration and moisture above the ground. Our line of TurfBreezeTM fans receives glowing reviews as does our unique TurfWatchTM Technology offerings.

HOW DOES A SUBAIR SYSTEM WORK?

A SubAir system can be installed into the existing drain system of a USGA specification green meaning there will be little impact in terms of excavation and rebuilding work if a course decides to have one installed. A vault containing a blower unit is installed at the greenside which can be set electronically to function either in moisture removal or pressure mode.

In the former, water and air are sucked through the turf by the blower – water goes into the drainage system and away through the greens natural drain routes while air is sucked into the vault and then above ground. In pressure mode, air is pushed up through the soil to optimise growing conditions with aeration and temperature control. Greenkeepers can monitor levels of moisture, aeration and temperature and set the unit to function accordingly.
